Oklahoma’s softball team fell behind 4-2, but came back to score 12 unanswered runs to beat Bryant University 14-4 in five innings in the first round of the NCAA Regional at Marita Hynes Field in Norman on Friday night.

OU pitcher Kelsey Stevens gave up a grand slam in the top of the 2nd inning as Bryant took a 4-2 lead.

The Sooners responded with a 10-run bottom half of the inning, highlighted by a 3-run home run from Shelby Pendley.

With a 10-4 lead in the third, Oklahoma added more on a 3-run home run by Whitney Ellis, and added a sacrifice fly from Brittany Williams in the fourth to complete the scoring.

Oklahoma advances to play former Big 12 rival Texas A&M on Saturday at 1:00 in a winners’ bracket game.

The winner of that game will advance to the championship game on Sunday at 1:00.

The Sooners have won 15 games in a row and have won 28 of their last 30, plus 11 straight NCAA Tournament games dating back to last year’s run to the national championship.
