Update: Three deaths reported in head-on collision

UPDATE: 6:30 p.m. – Authorities say three people died, and one was transported to the hospital in critical condition after a fatal collision in Choctaw.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office and the Choctaw Police Department are investigating the fatal crash that occured shortly after 1:00 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Officials say the preliminary investigation shows that a vehicle headed west bound on N.E. 23rd driven by Gene Pruett, 82, crossed the center line and struck another vehicle head on.

Gene Pruett and his wife, Deloris Pruett, 70, died as a result of the crash.

In the second vehicle, driver Chad Condrey, 40, died as in the crash as well.

Condrey’s passenger, Tyler Condrey, 20, was transported to OU Medical in critical condition.

Investigators are still trying to determine why the crash happened.

No word on how many victims were injured or the extent of the other injuries.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area of N.E. 23rd St. between Choctaw Rd. and N. Indian Meridian Rd.

CHOCTAW, Okla. – Officials say two vehicles collided near N.E. 23rd St. and Choctaw Rd. shortly after 1 p.m. on Monday.

When emergency crews arrived, they called for a helicopter to transport at least one patient from the scene.

No word on the extent of the victims’ injuries.
