OKLAHOMA CITY - An Oklahoma City cat is getting a second chance after being accidentally thrown away.

A company took in the stray cat after employees found it in a dumpster.

Street sweepers were cleaning up Hudson Avenue downtown, when they came across what they thought was an empty bag.

It was too big to vacuum up, so they threw it in a dumpster, where it stayed for two days.

Downtown OKC Inc. employee, Elizabeth Newton, says their maintenance crew found the cat in the dumpster.

Newton said, "They came back and heard some meowing from the dumpster, so the guys went through to find where the source of the noise was and they pulled out little Hudson."

Now the cat is out of the bag and little Hudson has found a home.

Downtown OKC Inc. not only found Hudson but they adopted him, giving him his own toy and kitty litter box.

Although the employees are enjoying their time with him, Hudson will not be at the company much longer.

Newton said, "We're not getting much work done today. We're having a good time with him."

Hudson has been adopted by an employee and is going to a good home.

In the future, maintenance crews may think twice before trashing "empty" bags.

Newton said, "I think now that it's happened, you may be a little more weary when you pick up a bag of trash, that something may be inside. But we're just really glad that they found Hudson.
