OKLAHOMA CITY – Police have arrested a 58-year-old man who allegedly set his car on fire because “it was crawling with bugs.”

Authorities said they were called to a fire on the 1500 block of S.W. 86th St. where they found Nick Son in the fetal position surrounded by 4-feet-tall piles of garbage.

Officials said Son was continuously smoking cigarettes when he told them he had not slept or eaten for days.

Police officers asked Son why he set fire to his car and he told them bugs were crawling through it.

Authorities said a neighbor told them Son has set things on fire in his yard in the past.

Son is in the Oklahoma County Jail on a $5,000 bond.
