OKLAHOMA CITY – A high school student is recovering after police say she was stabbed before class at a local high school.

On Friday, a resource officer at Southeast High School took a 16-year-old girl into custody after she allegedly stabbed a classmate with a knife.

The victim told police she was walking down the hall and began talking with another girl about a boy.

The conversation got a little heated when the alleged suspect told the girl, “I will stab you.”

According to the police affidavit, the alleged suspect reached around her back and pulled a knife out of her waistband.

The victim said she pulled her legs up to her chest and was stabbed in the leg.

When authorities found the alleged suspect, the report says they also say they found a knife covered in blood on the ground.

The suspect is charged with assault and battery and carrying a weapon on school property.
