It seems a popular television show that helped children learn will soon be in the making again.
“Reading Rainbow” made its debut in 1983 and became a hit by urging kids to “take a look” in a book during the summer months.
The show signed off for the last time in 2009 but the host and actor behind the hit never stopped working with children’s literacy groups.
On Wednesday, LeVar Burton launched a $1 million Kickstarter campaign to rain money for a web-based digital library of “Reading Rainbow” books and videos.
He gave himself a little more than a month to raise $1 million.
However, he surpassed that goal in less than 24 hours.
He had a priceless reaction to the news, which was captured on tape.
With 33 days to go in the campaign, guests have already donated $2.78 million.
