OKLAHOMA CITY – Construction is set to begin soon along the Kilpatrick Turnpike.

You may have noticed the electronic signs along the toll road, alerting drivers to lane closures.

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority has started installing additional cable barriers along the Kilpatrick Turnpike.

The cable barriers will be installed at mile markers 117-124 and 132-135.

The cable barriers will help prevent cross-over accidents, including head on collisions.

Installation will take place between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday through Thursday, and at times overnight. The project is expected to be complete within 99 days, according to officials.
