SOLDOTNA, Alaska – While firefighters were battling a wildfire in Alaska, they ended up saving several wolf pups from the blaze.

Firefighters say they rescued five pups, but one did not survive.

One had to have a porcupine quill taken out of its eye.

Rescuers gave the wolf pups sugar water to help with hydration.

They are now at the Alaska Zoo for evaluation.

According to KTUU the five wolf pups will soon find a new home at the Minnesota Zoo.
