TEXAS – With every step Dale Caston takes – he is getting closer to his goal of walking across the United States for a cause.

Caston is walking to raise money for all hands volunteers. An organization that sends volunteers to help rebuild areas hit by natural disasters.

He says after taking philosophy class last fall, he was inspired to do something for the world.

“I’ve always been kind of a walker though so … it just seemed like a natural fit. And … it kind of lets me slow down and see the world you know … see the country for what it is,” said Caston.

The Texas native began his trek on March 31st in Deleware and hopes to finish in San Francisco in late September.

Caston also chronicles his journey on Facebook, which can be found here.
