HARRAH, Okla. - Oklahoma County sheriff's deputies say they caught a drunk burglar in the act.
It happened in Harrah over the weekend and it all went down outside Willie Young's house.
"I'm like what's going on and lights and flashing and police and guns drawn out," said Young. "I was not thinking. I was in shock to be honest with you."
Around 2 a.m. Saturday, Young woke up and looked out his front door.
Several sheriff's deputies were surrounding his wife's Excursion and they asked him if he knew the man inside.
"He asked me I mean do you know this guy? And I said no, I never seen him before. Absolutely not!" said Young.
The sheriff's department had received a tip about a suspicious man walking down Dobbs carrying a rather large box.
They noticed an open door and the interior lights of Young's truck on.
Inside, they say they found Dusty Hill, 32.
They say he appeared intoxicated.
In the report the deputy said Dusty "made a comment if I gave him a cigarette he would tell me where the other houses he burglarized were."
The deputy did and that led them to another house on Dobbs that had been broken into and a third house with a vehicle that had been burglarized.
"The officer told me to inspect that box to see if I see anything of my belongings there. I saw a clock, an alarm clock, a small cd player," said Young.
Young says it was mostly meaningless junk in the box.
We caught up with Dusty Hill at his Harrah home.
He had bonded out of jail.
He just got out of prison about 4 months ago after serving 10 years on burglary charges.
He told us he wasn't out to steal anything this time.
He says he had been at a bar, was extremely drunk and was simply looking for somewhere to sleep.
Hill says his attorney is trying to work a deal so that he can go to rehab instead of back to jail.
He's facing charges of burglary II, larceny of an automobile and public drunk.
