WICHITA, Kan. – Tense moments on a flight from Chicago to Los Angeles when one of the plane’s emergency slides opened inside the cabin.

United Airlines says the slide opened inside the rear of the cabin forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in Wichita, Kan. around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.

There were 101 passengers on the flight when the slide deployed, but no one was hurt.

Investigators say the plane did not lose cabin pressure in the incident.

Passengers were offered hotel rooms in Wichita for the night.   A different plane will take them to Los Angeles today.
