Stolen Tesla leads police on high-speed chase, splits in half after hitting several cars

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – A stolen Tesla was involved in a fiery crash and even split in half after crashing into several cars.

According to KTLA, officers were called to the Tesla dealership after a suspect was seen tampering with one of the vehicles.

When police arrived, the man took off in the stolen sports car.

During the pursuit, the Tesla reached speeds up to 100 miles per hour, according to Sgt. Campbell with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Division.

The driver of the Tesla hit two other cars and a lamp post, which split the car in half.

Several people in nearby vehicles were injured during the crash, including the driver of the Tesla.

KTLA says two LAPD officers were also injured when their patrol car slammed into a center divider.
