Former Oklahoma State athletic greats Scott Verplank, Brandon Weeden and Desmond Mason put on an exhibition for just about 100 local students at Oak Tree National.

All three Cowboys were trying to spread the game of golf and the STEM zone.

STEM is short for science, technology, engineering and math, all are important subjects in school.

The children had the chance to watch Verplank, playing in his first US Senior Open over the weekend, hit some shots from the driving range.

While, former Thunder player, Desmond Mason and, Dallas Cowboys' quarterback, Brandon Weeden picked three kids from the crowd to come hit with the pros.

The exhibition was followed by a question and answer session with the Pokes trio.

The crowd on hand also sang happy birthday to Scott Verplank, as July 9, 2014 is his 50th birthday.
