OKLAHOMA CITY – Authorities are warning residents about a ‘suspicious’ donation drive.

Officials with the Lawton Police Department say they have learned that several citizens are receiving phone calls, asking for donations for food, clothing, medical and other needs.

The callers say the money will go toward the unaccompanied children, who are being held at Fort Sill.

The police department says agencies they have spoken with are not aware of any organization or entity that is accepting donations for the children.

Officers stress the needs of the children are being met and funded by the government.

If anyone gets one of the calls, authorities say you should be cautious of the information you give out.
