Tragic accident in Beckham County kills 10-year-old boy

BECKHAM COUNTY, Okla. – A 10-year-old boy died tragically after an ATV accident.

The accident took place in Beckham County, near Elk City.

According to authorities it happened just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday on private property.

OHP says the boy was driving a 1999 Honda Four Trax in a pasture when he lost control.

He was thrown off the ATV, then it rolled over him.

Officials say the boy was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Troopers say the cause of the accident was unsafe speed and the boy was not wearing a helmet.
