A test of an anti-mosquito app that says it helps keep the pesky insects away didn't work at all for NBC Reporter Kerry Sanders.
The free cell phone app from Pico Brothers, emits high frequency sounds.
The makers say mosquitoes don't like the sound and will stay away if the app is activated.
Sanders did just that, then stuck his arm inside a box with 5,000 mosquitoes on live television.
Here's what happened.
"Ouch, this does hurt. Now I'm going to activate the app and let's just see what happens. all right so I'm waiting for this app to work, and I'm waiting! You guys make me give blood on these stories, literally! all right I'm just gonna say I don't think it works. I'm taking my hand out guys," said Sanders.
Sanders walked away with about 300 bites with the marks all over his arm to prove it.
The company's website says" "It's not 100% coverage, but it will ease the pain of mosquitoes biting you."
