OKLAHOMA CITY – Tax Free Weekend kicks off today in Oklahoma.

It runs through Sunday and some stores are joining in the celebration.

Stores like Forever 21 and Toys R Us are offering big deals and giveaways.

The Outlet Shoppes have events planned all weekend to keep shoppers entertained with a Dora the Explorer Meet and Greet and other fun activities and guests.

There’s also free valet parking at the Outlet Shoppes during the tax free weekend, and some malls are extending their hours.

Keep in mind, back to school supplies are never on the tax free weekend list.

Also, only approved items under $100 are tax exempt.

Some of those items that will still be taxed this weekend include:

  • Handbags
  • Luggage
  • Umbrellas
  • Wallets
  • Watches
  • Rental clothes or footwear
  • Athletic clothes
  • Athletic shoes
  • Belt buckles
  • Costume masks
  • Patches or emblems
  • Sewing equipment
  • Hair bows
  • Briefcases
  • Purses.

  • Baby receiving blankets
  • Bathing suits and caps
  • Beach capes and coats

  • Coats and jackets
  • Costumes

  • Ear muffs
  • Footlets
  • Formal wear
  • Garters and garter belts
  • Girdles
  • Gloves and mittens
  • Hats and caps
  • Hosiery
  • Insoles for shoes
  • Lab coats
  • Neckties
  • Overshoes
  • Pantyhose
  • Rainwear
  • Rubber pants
  • Sandals

  • Shoes and shoe laces
