MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. – An investigation 20 years in the making takes an unexpected twist.

In 1991, the nation was captivated as a New Jersey town searched tirelessly for a missing 5-year-old boy.

Michelle Lodzinski had said that her 5-year-old son, Timothy Wiltsey, was kidnapped by two men with a knife in 1991.

Later that day, she told authorities the story was made up and that Timothy disappeared from a carnival ride in New Jersey.

His remains were found in a field near an industrial park several months later.

Lodzinski  was arrested in Florida on Wednesday for his murder.

However, attorneys are not releasing any information related to the evidence that led to her arrest.

She is being held on a $2 million bond.
