OKLAHOMA - Do you know any adopted cats or dogs that have done something heroic, such as saving a human’s life or making a difference through community service?

If so, the Central Oklahoma Humane Society wants to honor and recognize these furry pets at their “Hero Awards,” scheduled for 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th at the Skirvin Hilton Hotel, located at 1 Park Ave. in downtown Oklahoma City.

Ultimately, the "Hero Awards" are to raise awareness about adoption through a fostering program and to save more pets.

To nominate a pet, applications are being accepted now through August 24th at 11:59 p.m.

Forms can be downloaded at or picked-up in person at the OK Humane Adoption Center located at 7500 N. Western Ave in Oklahoma City.
