OKLAHOMA CITY –  A family argument turned violent after a man allegedly stabbed his step-father’s dog, police say.

Officers went to the family house on 2228 NW 1st Terrance for a domestic dispute call.

When officers got there, Floyd Woods said his step-son, Anthony Johnson, 31, stabbed his dog Toby twice in the neck and fled the scene.

Officers saw the dog laying on the porch, bleeding from his neck and with open stab wounds.

Floyd told police that Toby does not like confrontation and was barking because he was arguing with Johnson.

Floyd claims that Johnson got mad at the dog, stabbed the dog, and then took off.

Floyd’s mother told officers that her son has anger issues and recently got out of prison.

Police say that the dog was running, barking, and licking his wounds before officers left, but appeared to be “ok”.

Johnson was arrested and is facing a cruelty to animals charge.
