Update: Missing Enid boy found safe, father arrested

UPDATED 8/20/2014 6:20 a.m. – ENID, Okla. – A 5-year-old Enid, Okla. boy is safe after law enforcement spent several hours searching for the boy.

You may have received an Amber Alert on your phone around 2 a.m. Wednesday.

That Amber Alert was called off about an hour later after the boy was found with the man believed to be his father.

Authorities say the suspect, Anastacio Reyes, was drunk when he abducted the boy around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police also say he assaulted the child’s mother with a knife before he took off with the child.

The boy has the same name as the suspect, Anastacio Reyes.

The Enid Police Department confirms the suspect is in custody and the child is safe.



Update: 3:25 a.m. Enid Police say the suspect is in custody and the child is safe and now in protective custody.


ENID, Okla. – An Amber Alert has been issued for 5 year old Anastacio Reyes from Enid. He is believed to be with his father Anastacio Reyes Senior.

The child was last seen wearing a red football jersey and tan shorts.
Enid Police say The father, 32, was last seen wearing a t-shirt, jeans and one boot just before 11:30 Tuesday night.


Authorities say the suspect, Reyes Senior, was intoxicated and assaulted the child’s mother with a knife then left with the boy. The reported female victim has a large gash on her arm and has full custody of the 5 year old.

Reyes’ vehicle is a 2004 white Chevy Silverado with Oklahoma tag 310-AMG.
The truck has a silver tool box and a large OU sticker in the back window.

The suspect may be headed to Boise City in the Oklahoma panhandle.
