OKLAHOMA COUNTY, Okla. – A man was killed in the Oklahoma County Jail and now his family is finally getting some restitution.

55-year-old Artie Hales was a paranoid schizophrenic who spent a lot of time wandering the streets.  His family says he was harmless.

In 2013 he was picked up for a misdemeanor of loitering.

He was put in the county jail with a violent cellmate where he was beaten to death.

The family sued the county and just two weeks ago received an $850,000 settlement.
