MCCLAIN COUNTY, Okla. – McClain County authorities have cracked a murder mystery.

Officials have linked a convicted sex offender to the scene of a murder.

Investigators say DNA evidence tied Michael Hair to a murder in Goldsby, Oklahoma.

The victim’s husband came home from work to find his wife dead inside their home.

He hadn’t been able to reach her by phone or text all day.

Rachelle Flowers was found with a belt around her neck.  She died of asphyxiation.

Authorities say she had not been sexually assaulted.

Hair served almost a decade in prison for assault, attempted rape, and indecent exposure.

Two weeks after Flowers’ murder, Hair killed himself.

Authorities say it doesn’t appear Hair and the victim knew each other.
