Canceled Silver Alert; Officers find missing Mayes County man

UPDATED 8/21/2014 11:23 a.m. – The Mayes County Sheriff’s Office says the Silver Alert for 79-year-old John Crandall has been canceled.

Deputies say the man has been found, but aren’t releasing any more information at this time.


SALINA, Okla. – There is a Silver Alert in the northeastern part of Oklahoma.

It’s coming from the small town of Salina, which is in Mayes County.

Police are looking for John Crandall, 79.

Crandall was last seen in Salina at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

He was wearing black pants, a white western shirt, black boots, and a cowboy hat.

Police say he could be driving a 1992 Ford F-250 with an Oklahoma license plate number of 403FEL.

Investigators say he could be headed to Michigan where he has family.
