Watching other people play video games is so popular, Amazon is willing to pay big bucks for it.

Amazon has agreed to acquire Twitch, a service that lets users watch and broadcast video game play.

The deal is worth $970 million dollars.

Twitch was founded in 2011 and has more than 55 million visitors per month.

The CEO for Twitch says partnering with Amazon will allow the site to create tools and services at a much faster pace.

Amazon said the all-cash deal is expected to go through later this year.
