While a popular series has come to an end, a lot of people can’t stop talking about Harry Potter.

J.K. Rowling continues to publish short stories, giving fans a glimpse into the characters’ lives after the books end.

One man says he has looked a bit deeper into the stories and has created an interesting theory.

However, it may ruin your perception of the books forever.

HisĀ post on tickld claims that he believes the Harry Potter series is actually about mental illness.

The poster claims all the major events are actually a delusional version of the experiences of a child in a mental institution.

The article goes on to say Voldemort is simply Harry Potter’s alter ego, which projects his rage and fury.

“It is repeatedly indicated that the boy “Tom Riddle” (the young “Voldemort”) is actually Harry Potter, with constant parallels and similarities being heavily stressed. Same books, same wand, both orphaned, etc. Harry has increasing visions of Voldemort, and they even share thoughts, which is an obvious symbol for saying that “Voldemort” is just a component of Harry’s diseased mind, at first only a whisper, and becoming increasingly dominant and thus real to him,” the post alleges.
