Oklahoma police searching for shooting suspect

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – Police are looking for a man wanted in connection to a Weatherford shooting.

Weatherford police were called to a shooting Wednesday evening after a man was shot.

Police say 37-year-old Deondrae Jones was inside of a home when he shot through the window, hitting the victim in the leg.

The victim, Roger Gaston, left the scene with the help of friends and was taken to the Weatherford hospital.

Gaston was later taken to a hospital in Oklahoma City in stable condition.

Witnesses told police Jones did not leave the home and was believed to still be inside, armed with a weapon.

Officers tried to make contact with the suspect, but they did not get a response.

Hours later, at 12:10 a.m., police confirmed the suspect was not in the residence.

Investigators believe the suspect has fled the Weatherford area.

According to KSWO, Jones, a convicted felon, has been known to stay in the Lawton and Fredrick areas.
