Oklahoma woman charged with locking child in dog pen waives second day of hearing

JAY, Okla.  — A Delaware County, Okla. woman accused of locking a child in a dog pen and forcing children to go without food and water has waived the second day of her preliminary hearing, according to TulsaWorld.

Deidre Matthews, 46, made that decision after hours full of damaging testimony from her daughter and a social services worker on the first day of the hearing.

Deidre Matthews and Jerry Dean Matthews, 63,  are from Jay, Okla..

Both are charged with  child abuse, child neglect, and enabling child abuse.

Deidre Matthews is in jail, and faces life in prison.
