OKLAHOMA CITY - One Oklahoma woman is left in shock after watching a kitten being thrown from a moving car.

She says the poor kitten wasn't alone, and is now asking for help tracking down those responsible.

"I was on my way to work, kind of in auto-pilot mode," said Kendy Cox, a Yukon resident. "All of a sudden I noticed something was flying out of the passenger window of the car in front of me."

She initially thought it was a piece of trash. It wasn't until the ball of fur moved that she realized it was in fact a kitten.

"I envisioned a child holding his pet in the back seat, that just jumped out of the window," said Cox.

Further down the road, it became clear this was no accident.

"I saw another small gray kitten that had already been hit by a car," said Cox. "After that I saw yet another gray kitten."

She says she found the animals on Northwest Expressway, between Rockwell and Meridian.

KFOR hit the road with Kendy to investigate, only to find the bodies of not one, but three small kittens, all matching her description.

"You just can't fathom someone would do that to anything," said Cox.

The event left Kendy with an image she'd like to forget, and a suspect she wishes she could remember.

"The poor kitten was trying to stand up, probably an image that will be seared in my brain forever," said Cox. "I'm praying that somebody saw this happen, and also got the license plate number to turn them into authorities."

Kendy describes the vehicle as a silver sedan.

Oklahoma City Police Department say they haven't received any calls on the incident, but urge anyone with information to come forward.
