Michael Cage New Thunder Color Commentator

The Oklahoma City Thunder have hired former NBA power forward Michael Cage as their new color analyst.

Cage played 15 NBA seasons with the Supersonics, Cavaliers, 76ers, and Nets. Cage earned the rebounding title in 1988 hauling in 30 rebounds in the final game to secure the award.

Cage is excited to be a member of the Thunder broadcast team saying, “Thank you to the Oklahoma City Thunder for giving me such a wonderful opportunity to join the franchise. I’m looking forward to working with an already terrific broadcast team,” Cage said. “I’ve been involved in basketball, sports broadcasting and charity work for over 40 years and I look forward to getting to know the passionate Thunder fans in Oklahoma! My family and I are excited and feel very blessed.”

Cage has been an analyst for the Memphis Grizzlies and has also coached. He’s coached AAU teams as well as Mater Dai High School in LA. Cage led Mater Dai to back to back state titles in 2013 and 2014. He even coached the Cavs summer league team in 2013.

The Thunder also announced that media day will take place September 29th.
