NORMAN, Okla. – Fire crews were called to a large grass fire in Norman Tuesday afternoon.

The blaze started near 36th and West Lindsey.

According to officials, electrical crews were clearing trees away from electrical lines when one of the machines sparked, catching the nearby grass and trees on fire.

Officials say the flames caused one of the electrical lines to come down, leaving several homes without power for hours.

Police blocked off the area while fire crews battled the flames.
