With the Oklahoma City Thunder less than two weeks away from the NBA preseason, Thunder general manager Sam Presti met with the media for the first time of the 2014 season.

Presti updated the status of several Thunder injuries.

Perry Jones and Nick Collison both had knee surgeries and will be ready for the start of the team's camp.

Kendrick Perkins strained his quad muscle, will be reevaluated by doctor's in two weeks and won't be with the team at the start of camp.

Reggie Jackson's contract with the Thunder was another hot topic.

Jackson's current contract expires at the end of the season, so the organization is attempting to resign the fourth year guard before he becomes a free agent.

Indiana Pacers' star Paul George made news during the offseason while he played for team USA, after suffering a gruesome leg injury that will keep him out of the entire NBA season.

Shortly after the injury occurred, Thunder star Kevin Durant withdrew from the team to rest.

Presti also announced that second round draft pick Josh Huestis will begin the year with the Thunder's Developmental League team, the Oklahoma City Blue.

On the note of the Blue, Presti said former Thunder guard, Royal Ivey will join the D. League team's coaching staff for their 2014 season.

The Thunder open their preseason on October 8 at Denver, tip is set for 7 p.m. CT.
