YUKON, Okla. - A Yukon family is desperately searching for two mystery heroes they say helped save their daughter’s life.
Family and friends are thankful 19-year-old Cheaci Tipton is alive after a reckless driving accident this week.
Tipton and four other girls were in a truck that overturned near Lake Overholser.
Officials say a juvenile driver was speeding and lost control of the vehicle.
KatlynMcDaniels, a passenger, said they were all yelling for the driver to slow down.
"We were going down this gravel road. She was going about 80 I would say and she was swerving to miss the holes in the road on purpose," said McDaniels.
Tipton was in the bed of the truck when the force of the crash threw her out of the vehicle, trapping her underneath the pickup.
"All I remember is I flew out," said Tipton.
Out of nowhere, two men came to the rescue, never giving their names, and disappearing before paramedics got there.
"They came running down and were like are you guys okay do you need any help and we said yes, she's underneath the truck and we need help. We need to get her out from underneath the truck. There was one on this side of me and one on the other side and we just pushed it off of her," said McDaniels.
Tipton remains in the hospital after suffering from multiple injuries including, fractures in her back, a broken rib, and a collapsed lung.
Now Tipton and her parents want to thank the mystery men.
"Thank you, thank you so much. God puts us in places when we don't even know why we're there," said Tammy Marston, Tipton’s mom.
"If it wouldn't have been for them, she wouldn't be here," said Rodney Tipton, Tipton’s dad.
If you are one of the men who helped save Cheaci Tipton or if you know these men, please contact our station and we will connect you with the family who would like to say thank you.
Also, Tipton’s parents said this unfortunate crash is a good reminder for parents to talk to their kids about the dangers of reckless driving.
