Duncan mayor receives high honor

DUNCAN, Okla. – The mayor of Duncan, Oklahoma was named the 2014 Oklahoma Mayor of the Year for the state’s larger communities.

Gene Brown is a long time resident of his community.

According to the Oklahoma Municipal League, Brown has served in the capacity of City Councilman and Vice Mayor for 25 years and is currently serving his eighth year as Mayor.

Brown was presented with the award in Oklahoma City by The Mayors Council of Oklahoma.
