A.J. Hinch, a former star at Midwest City High School, was named the new manager of the Houston Astros on Monday, Sept. 29th.

Hinch was the manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2009 and 2010, and since that time had been the vice president of pro scouting for the San Diego Padres.

Hinch believes his experiences in various different roles in baseball will help him as he takes on the managerial job for the Astros, who have struggled in recent seasons.
