OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma City Thunder kick off training camp on Tuesday, but first the team met with the media to discuss a variety of topics as they aim to improve on their Western Conference Finals season last year.

The talk of the event was Steven Adams’ newly grown mustache.

A lot of people were wondering why the ‘Big Kiwi’ would grow a mustache in the first place.

It seems like the answer may be found on his Twitter page.

On a more serious note, Reggie Jackson made it crystal clear he wants to be a starter for the Thunder next season.

Jackson said the great ones that are remembered are starters, not super 6 men. All the while his management and the Thunder try to work out a deal in the next month to keep him in OKC.

The veterans of the group Kevin Durant and Kendrick Perkins both talked about how their games have evolved heading into the season.

KD, even though he won the MVP, mentioned that he worked on every aspect of his game. He wants to have no lapses in how he performs in 2014-2015.

Perk said he’s played a third of his life in the NBA and has started for 10 years.

He thinks he has the brains to continue to play for as long as he wants which can help physicality issues as he gets older.

There’s been a ton of talk that Steven Adams could be in line to start for OKC this season.

The Thunder open up pre season play Wednesday, October 8th in Denver.
