Shooting victim killed after medical helicopter crashes en route to hospital

WAURIKA, Okla. – Officials say an Oklahoma man who was shot in Jefferson County died when the medical helicopter he was riding in crashed.

Waurika authorities say they are currently investigating the shooting.

Police say 26-year-old Buddy Rhodes was shot inside an apartment at 531 E. D Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Authorities say Rhodes was mediflighted to a Wichita Falls hospital when the helicopter was involved in an accident.

At this time, authorities say at least one person died in the accident.

However, Texas authorities have not confirmed the identity of that victim.waurika

Officials have arrested 23-year-old Eric Lynn Morrison on a complaint of obstruction of a police official.

Agents say he was inside the home when Rhodes was shot.
