Man arrested after crash claims life of 17-year-old Oklahoma woman

PICKETT, Okla. – Authorities say a 20-year-old man has been arrested following a crash that claimed the life of a 17-year-old woman.

On Oct. 8, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol was called to an accident in Pontotoc County.

Once they arrived, they found that a 17-year-old woman had died in the crash and a 15-year-old girl needed medical attention.

The driver, 20-year-old Jonathan Chandler, was arrested after troopers determined that he was under the influence of an intoxicating substance.

He was arrested for one count of first-degree manslaughter.

Troopers ask that anyone who had contact with Chandler on Oct. 8, or has information regarding the crash, contact the OHP at (580) 223-8800.
