PAW PAW, Mich. — A woman is arrested and facing drunk driving charges after deputies say she pulled into the sheriff’s office parking lot and thought it was a bar.

Investigators say just after 2 a.m. on Sunday a 39-year-old woman pulled right up to the front door of the Van Buren County Jail, according to Fox 17.

Deputies say she thought she ended up at a bar, but actually she pulled into a parking lot that’s used to walk suspects into jail.

Sgt. Ron Douglas said that someone inside the jail saw the car pull up.

The sheriff’s office said that a woman could be heard asking her boyfriend to get back into the vehicle.

When a deputy approached the woman, he smelled alcohol on her breath, and say she was more than twice the legal limit.

The woman was arrested for driving under the influence, then released on bond.
