On-going construction could interfere with your commute
OKLAHOMA – Road officials are warning Oklahoma motorists that on-going construction could interfere with your commute.
Here is a list of the routes to avoid:
I-35 narrows at SH-9 East in Norman tonight, Friday night
Northbound I-35 will be narrowed to one lane at SH-9 East from 8 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. Friday and from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday for bridge painting as part of ongoing interchange reconstruction. All ramps will remain open to traffic.
I-40 ramp at SH-4 (Mustang Rd.) closed through October
The eastbound I-40 off-ramp to SH-4 (Mustang Rd.) remains closed through October for ramp work associated with ongoing I-40 reconstruction. Drivers must locate an alternate route.
I-40 ramps from I-35, I-235 close tonight, Friday night
The westbound I-40 ramps from northbound I-35 and southbound I-235 will be closed from 8 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Friday and from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday for ongoing bridge work. Drivers must locate an alternate route.
I-40 Crosstown work continues at the I-40/I-235/I-35 Dallas Jct.
Drivers are cautioned to be alert to workers and equipment at the I-40/I-235/I-35 Dallas junction on the I-40 Crosstown east end connection. Construction vehicles will be entering/exiting the highway.
I-35 narrows in Moore and Norman Saturday; travel delays expected
Drivers can expect various lane closures on each direction of I-35 between N. 27th St. in Moore and the US-77 junction just south of Indian Hills Rd in Norman Saturday for lane striping. This is a moving operation and work will be performed on one direction of I-35 at a time.
- Southbound I-35 from 7 a.m. to approximately 1 p.m.
· Northbound I-35 from approximately 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
At least one lane will remain open to traffic at all times, as well as all on and off-ramps. Drivers should expect traffic delays and plan additional travel time or consider an alternate route, such as SH-9, I-44, I-240 and US-77H (Sooner Rd.)
