American troops under “controlled monitoring” after visiting West Africa
(CNN)- According to U.S. military officials, a handful of American soldiers are under “controlled monitoring” in Italy after visiting regions where Ebola is spreading.
Army Major Gen. Darryl Williams and 10 other personnel will be monitored for 21 days at a U.S. military installation in Italy.
During their time in the region, the troops traveled around Liberia and were in Ebola treatment and testing areas.
At this time, there are no indications that any of the troops have symptoms of the virus.
