ARDMORE, Okla. – Authorities say no one was injured after a small, single-engine airplane hit an SUV as it made an emergency landing in Oklahoma.

Ardmore fire officials say the pilot of the Lancair propeller plane reported mechanical problems and was not able to land at the Ardmore Downtown Executive Airport on Sunday afternoon.

According to officials, the pilot had to circle the area because another airplane had just taken off.

Authorities say the pilot hit the top of the sport utility vehicle with a family inside before skidding to a stop several blocks away.

No one was hurt, but the SUV’s driver said the impact caused a bar to bend on the top of the SUV.

The vehicle also had several dents and scratches.
