Recall: 31,000 pounds of chicken recalled for bacteria

PITTSBURGH, Pa. –  A Pennsylvania company has issued a nationwide recall for gluten-free chicken that may be contaminated.

The USDA says Murry’s Inc. is recalling 12 ounce boxes of “Bell & Evans Gluten-Free Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets” and 10.5 ounce boxes of “Bell & Evans Gluten-Free Breaded Chicken Breast.”

The products may be contaminated with staphylococcal enterotoxin, which can lead to food poisoning.

Symptoms include stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

In all, the recall involves 31,000 pounds of chicken.

So far, no illnesses have been reported.

The products all have an expiration date of Aug. 9, 2015.
