Man surrenders after hour-long standoff in the metro

NICOMA PARK, Okla. – Officials were on scene of a standoff in Nicoma Park Tuesday night.

According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office, a man barricaded himself inside of a home after his wife went to the police station and told police her husband assaulted her.

When Nicoma Park Police arrived on scene, they believed the man was armed and intoxicated.

Nicoma Park Police requested help from the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office SWAT.

After an hour-long standoff, officials say the man surrendered and was taken into custody.
