MCALESTER, Okla. – A mother and grandmother are facing serious charges after two young children got their hands on a platter of marijuana-laced brownies.

McAlester Police say Amy Finley, 34, and Della Hamby, 54, are behind bars after Finley’s 4 and 5-year-old children tested positive for marijuana.

According to McAlester News-Capital, Finley told police that her son got into the brownies and ate a piece of one.

Finley told police she didn’t think the child had enough to affect him.

Police say neither child received medical attention until an older cousin noticed one of the kids acting strange.

According to McAlester News-Capital, the cousin took the 4-year-old to the emergency room where he tested positive for marijuana.

Police say the 5-year-old girl was at Hamby’s house around the same time and she also tested positive for marijuana.

Finley and Hamby now face child neglect and drug charges.
