LOS ANGELES – An actress on a popular television show has died.

A representative for Carol Ann Susi confirmed that she passed away on Tuesday.

Officials say she was battling an aggressive form of cancer.

Susi worked in television for four decades, but was most recently known as the voice of Debbi Wolowitz, Howard’s mother, on “The Big Bang Theory.”

She was also known for roles in “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Ugly Betty,” “Seinfeld,” “Cheers” and the movie “Just Go With It.”

Warner Bros. Television and Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro and Bill Prady released the following statement on Susi’s passing:

“Unseen by viewers, the Mrs. Wolowitz character became a bit of a mystery throughout the show’s eight seasons. What was not a mystery, however, was Carol Ann’s immense talent and comedic timing, which were on display during each unforgettable appearance. In addition to her talent, Carol Ann was a constant source of joy and kindness to all. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with her family during this time, and we will miss her greatly.”

Susi was 62-years-old.
