OKLAHOMA CITY – Arctic air will dominate Oklahoma and temperatures will be 30 degrees below average all week!
Tonight’s lows will plunge to the low to middle 20s. under cloudy skies. A north wind will result in wind chills in the teens and 20s.
Look for a few hours above freezing tomorrow with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid to upper 30s.
Cold temperatures will coincide with a storm system this weekend.
Saturday we can expect a cold rain for southern Oklahoma, a mix of rain and snow for central Oklahoma and heavy, wet snow for northern Oklahoma.
The ground is still very warm so accumulating snow is not expected.
Wet snow is possible Sunday.
Light accumulations on grassy surfaces and trees will be possible for northern Oklahoma.
The 40s will return next week, which will feel like a heat wave after this cold snap!
