Suspect in hospital after officer involved shooting

TULSA, Okla. – A Tulsa police officer opened fire on an alleged burglar Thursday afternoon.

According to KJRH, police were called to an armed robbery attempt at a check cashing store when an employee sounded a silent panic alarm.

When officers arrived to the scene, the alleged suspect was still inside the store.

Tulsa police say as they got closer to the suspect, he reached for his pellet gun.

After Tulsa police fired one shot, the suspect fled the building.

Officials say the suspect later collapsed from his injuries and was taken into custody.

According to KJRH, the suspect is being treated at a Tulsa hospital.  He is expected to survive his injuries.
