Tulsa man admits to pointing laser at police helicopter

TULSA, Okla. – A Tulsa man pleaded guilty to aiming a laser pointer in the flight path of a police department helicopter.

According to United States Attorney Danny C. Williams Sr., 43-year-old Carl Floyd admitted in court to aiming a laser pointer three times in the flight path of a Tulsa Police Department helicopter.

Officials say at one point, the laser Floyd was pointing stuck an officer in both eyes.

The flight officer experienced flash blindness.

He is facing up to five years in prison and a fine up to $250,000.

His sentencing is scheduled for February 20, 2015.
