CALI, Columbia – An 11-year-old South American girl is in intensive care after having 104 narcotics-filled capsules removed from her digestive tract.
Police in Cali, Columbia say the girl was rushed to the hospital when she started to feel sick after a visit with her father.
The girl’s mother says the 11-year-old arrived home around 6 p.m. after seeing her father, then got sick overnight.
Officials believe the dad wanted to send her to Europe as a drug “mule.”
Doctors say there were 500 to 600 grams of narcotics in those capsules.
Doctors are still trying to figure out exactly what she swallowed.
The girl is reported to be in stable condition.
Once she is released from the hospital, the girl will be accompanied by local child protective services.
According to the Daily Mail, officials are looking for the girl’s father.
